   Graduate Program in Atmospheric Science

Many graduates with M.S. degrees in atmospheric science find employment in research laboratories, scientific programming, operational weather forecasting, and environmental consulting. Others continue their education by entering Ph.D. programs in atmospheric science or related disciplines. Most Ph.D. graduates move on to postdoctoral positions, and then to positions in academic institutions or government research laboratories.

The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research has numerous links to internships, postdoc opportunities, and job opportunities.

In addition, a Career Guide for the Atmospheric Sciences has been prepared by the American Meteorological Society, and contains useful information about career opportunities, potential employers, and job market, including salary outlook.
